Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-18
Beepsme is a voice-first assistant for Windows that listens to your commands and acts on your computer. This policy explains what we collect, what stays on your device, and the choices you have. Plain language, no surprises.
What stays on your device
- Your voice audio. Microphone audio is captured only to turn your speech into text, and it is not stored on our servers.
- Screenshots and screen reading. When a task needs to see the screen (for example to read a document aloud or click a button), a screenshot is used in the moment to complete that task. It is processed for that request and not retained by us.
- Your memories and settings. Notes, contacts, preferences, and logs live in
%APPDATA%\Beepsme on your own machine.
What we process to make Beepsme work
- Speech-to-text and AI. To understand and act on a request, the transcribed text and, when needed, a screenshot are sent to our processing backend, which forwards them to our AI providers to generate the response. We instruct our providers not to train on this content.
- Account. If you sign in, we store your email, name, and sign-in identifiers to manage your account and subscription.
- Billing. Payments are handled by our payment processor. We receive subscription status, not your full card details.
- Diagnostics. Crash reports are off by default. If you opt in during setup, we receive anonymized error reports with file paths stripped. No voice, screenshots, or message content are included.
- Anonymous usage counts. Beepsme sends small anonymous counters, tied to a non-reversible device hash, never your account: app version, how many tasks ran and whether they succeeded, and how often speech recognition struggled. Never what you said or did. This helps us fix reliability where it actually breaks. Opt out any time in Settings, Privacy.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use your voice, screen content, or messages to train models.
- We do not run in the background listening when you have not activated Beepsme.
The browser extension
The optional Beepsme browser extension only reads and acts inside web apps you already have open and have asked Beepsme to work in. It talks only to the Beepsme app on your own computer, sends nothing to our servers, and acts only while a task you started is running. More detail is on the extension page.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your voice history and local data from within the app at any time.
- Request account and data deletion by emailing hello@beepsme.com.
- Turn crash reporting on or off in Settings.
